Greespan has admitted to his miscalculations; Bernanke,Paulson, and now Geithner have done and are doing their best to make up for the Feds' earlier mistakes (and those of the Fed's overseas comparables). But what is happening now is a repeat, in admittedly more complicated form, of what has happened many time over the past several centuries. We'll learn from this, and survive, but something new will happen in another generation or so. That's just the way the world is....
