RIGs sound like a good idea which is long overdue. I'm sure there is more to the story though and the alumni will sound off about here and elsewhere.

DartBored,

Here's your "more to the story": RIGs (or, rather, the term "rig") is also one of the most well-known inside jokes on campus, originating from Phi Delt (long story). Regardless, the article wasn't serious by any stretch of the imagination.

In case you hadn't caught it, by the end of the article, he was essentially proposing just tearing down the choates to build more frats...

Not to worry, i'm sur you weren't the only one who bought in to this

@Much more

Having read Bruschi's Op-Eds for a while now, and being a current student who has met this kid, I am 100% certain that he was being serious. I'm sure he chose the term RIGs not because he was being funny, but rather he was trying to be clever. The kid, as scary as it is, is absolutely serious about what he wrote.

I'm also positive bruschi didn't know the term "rig" when he wrote that article. the SA guy who claims to speak/act for students and be in touch with dartmouth culture is oblivious to one of the "most well-known in-jokes on campus". unreal.

yeah bruschi is serious and he definitely didn't know about "rigs"...I don't know if this has changed over time but I can definitely say only a small minority of students know the meaning of rig associated with phi delt.

The lyrics are hilarious.

Probably only a small minority of students know the phi delt-associated meaning of "rig", but most people here do know that it is a phi delt term.
